Woman delivers baby boy on a train at London Bridge station


A Black woman was delivered of a baby boy on a train at the busy London Bridge station on Thursday evening, April 27. She, whose name is not yet known, went into labour on a Southeastern train before being helped onto the platform when it arrived at London Bridge. Realising the baby was on the way, an announcement was made for doctors and nurses to attend,before she was moved to a medical room. She gave birth to her son shortly after 4.30pm.
Dean Parsons, 43, an information assistant at Southeastern Railway, told Evening Standard:

The Charismatic General Overseer of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, aka Liberation City, has hailed the bail granted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The man of God said “Government has done well and deserves to be praised. But they must do better.”

72-year-old grandmother graduates from the same university she dropped out from 55 years ago


72-year-old Darlene Mullins, a grandmother-of-four will be among the 800 students to graduate from Tennessee State University, TSU, on the 6th of May. Darlene will be receiving her degree 55 good years after she started at the institution.

Darlene began her studies in TSU campus in 1962, however, almost immediately, she fell in love with fellow student John Mullins, a senior from East St. Louis, Illinois, who she described as dashing, handsome and “everything to behold".

Dad jailed 10 days for leaving baby in the car to get Lap dances in Strip club A California father accused of leaving his baby in the car to get Lap dances at a Strip Club has been jailed for 10days. Auwin Dargin who appeared before a Los Angeles court on Wednesday was on the 9th of March, 2016, arrested for leaving his 9month old baby daughter in a car for 43 minutes while he visited Synn Gentlemen’s Club in North Hills to buy lap dances, according to prosecutors. The court also heard that the employees of the club and neighboring businesses discovered the sweating and crying baby girl inside the vehicle about 2 p.m. and rescued her before they contacted the police. In a news release from the office of Los Angeles County District Attorney, the 26-year-old father pleaded no contest to a felony count of child abuse. He was sentenced to 10 days in county jail and five years probation. He was also ordered to complete 52 weeks of parenting classes, as well as 45 days of Caltrans service.

ENYINNAYA Abaribe, Senator representing Abia-Central Senatorial District on Friday signed the bail bond of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday granted Kanu’s bail on health grounds.

Pres. Buhari absent at Federal Executive Council meeting today

President Buhari was absent at the Federal Executive Council meeting, which holds every Wednesday at the state house, Abuja. This will be the third time President Buhari will be absent at the meeting since his return from his medical trip to the UK.
The cabinet had awaited the president's arrival until the State House Chief of Protocols stepped in and informed Osinbajo, who then presided over the meeting.

Police arrest doctor who allegedly gave Senator Isiaka Adeleke injection overdose



The Police in Osun state have reportedly arrested one Dr Alfred Aderibigbe, a medical assistant with a community health center in Ede, Osun State, for allegedly administering an injection overdose on Senator Isiaka Adeleke who died after suffering a heart attack on Sunday April 23rd.According to Sahara Reporters, late Senator Adeleke had been suffering from severe leg pain that required him to be injected with pain killers.

Court orders Brazilian footballer, Bruno Fernandes back to jail over the murder of his ex-girlfriend


Brazil’s Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that Bruno Fernandes return to jail to continue serving a 22-year sentence for killing his ex-girlfriend and feeding her to dogs.
He was arrested and three years later found guilty of homicide, kidnapping and hiding the body of his ex-girlfriend Eliza Samudio.

Nigeria Police Force commences investigation into the threats made by their officer to kill 200 people if Buhari dies


Earlier today, LIB reported about a police office, Inusa Saidu Biu from Borno state, who threatened to kill at least 200 people if anything happens to President Buhari. Inusa threatened Nigerians in his post on Facebook, saying if anything happens to the president, he will murder 200 innocent people in revenge.

Barack Obama under fire for his $400,000 speech to Wall Street


Former US president, Barack Obama, is facing intense criticism for accepting a $400,000 speaking fee for a Wall Street conference that will be hosted by Cantor Fitzgerald LP in September. This is almost twice as much as the speaking fees Hillary Clinton charged for three speeches to Goldman Sachs after she left the State Department.
She also came under immense criticism during her campaign for receiving so much money to speak to Wall Street firms.

Pres. Buhari writes National Assembly, seeks approval to borrow $5.851bn for railway projects


President Muhammadu Buhari has written a letter to the National Assembly, requesting for approval to borrow $5.851 billion for the upgrade of various sections of the Nigerian railway.In the letter written separately to Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the house of representatives Yakubu Dogara, President Buhari asked for speedy consideration of his request so that his administration can access the China-African fund provided in the 2016-2018 external borrowing plan.
According to President Buhari, the loan which is limited, is made open for all countries in the continent and it is award to any country on first come, first service basis. The letter in part reads
